I know that Interstellar was a pretty good movie. But seriously. How does it have a better rating than "visual poetry" "the greatest sci-fi film of all time" and "pure cinema". I mean, this s**t is majestically. It shows the journey from the dawn of man, to the first contact, all the way until man turns into star child. It is intense, meaningful, thought provoking, and beautiful. If you still have no idea what I'm talking about, Interstellar is #33 and 2001 is #89.
I wouldn't place any stead on IMDB or other website ratings. It is about popularity and what the herd think is great. Most of those that rate these films, are the top demographic of the movie going public...teens and young adults. They are narcissistic and entitled millennials and most have no freakin clue.

Interesting. Because it's the Millennials that gave 2001 ASO a higher rating than the baby boomers.
You're wrong, The "old folk" gave it 4**** . Do you read reviews from "books"? You don't go by imdb ratings anyway. It's listed in some reviewers as one of the ten best films of all time, though that is not my opinion. Know what you saying so you don't appear ignorant.

You are an arrogant, insecure, mentally ill, self-entitled and clueless individual who has nothing useful to say or add, except troll with their myriad of sock accounts and undermine posters that are more clued in and wiser than you could ever hope to be. And the laughing faces you put at the end of your posts doesn't mean you have said anything clever or funny, only that you are laughing out of your ass.

I put 2 and 2 together and know that you need to take your meds, or change your tampon and that you need to stop deluding yourself about how "right" you "only" think you are, because the reality is you know jack squat. I think you have only been used to getting your own way and are a spoiled little s<>t that needs their ass tanned, along with your other sock puppet accounts troll.

The irony is, you don't see and that is your biggest problem and flaw. Eyes wide shut and full of yourself, as though you think you have it all sussed out. Absolutely no self-awareness about where you are coming from, or what you are doing to yourself. Perhaps one day you might just wake up to yourself, but I won't be holding my breath. You have way too many sock puppet accounts to contend with, which are only an extension of your schizophrenic personality.

Judging from the list of films you've rated...never mind your use of the idiot term "suxxx"...I doubt any intelligent person would find your opinion on cinema carries any weight whatever. Perhaps one day you'll grow up.
Perhaps not, too.
Religion is like a rocking chair -- a lot of work to get nowhere.
Interstellar, like Gravity before it, was entertaining, often gripping, and looked stunning at times ... but in both cases, I've never felt any particular desire to see them again. If I never did see them again, I wouldn't feel as if I'd really missed anything.
2001, on the other hand, I have seen again, many times over the past decades. And I still want to see it again, many times more. Far from being a failure as a film, it's in fact pure film, where everything that matters is in what's seen, not in what's said. Like Beethoven's Ninth or Miles Davis' Kind of Blue, for instance: like those works, 2001 is inexhaustible. No matter how many times I experience it, I always get something new from it.

^This. To use a gastronomic metaphor, some films "stick to your ribs." Those do not. Now, I actually own Children of Men which I've rewatched several times to good advantage, but Gravity was a one-time shot. I did also purchase Inception, but found it another one-time shot, despite all the hype.
I've nothing against purely "entertaining" films. I just don't generally spend a lot of time with them.
