The Worst Film Ever??

I just saw this, and, well, it was the worst film I've seen in a looong time.

Everything about it was awful, to the bad acting from Lee Marvin, to the terrible camera-work, out-of-place music, stupid sound-effects, and worse plot.

Seriously, this was SO terrible. Maybe it's just because it's dated, but I've seen films 30 years before this that aren't dated, so it has no excuse. Lee Marvin is that guy we all know and hate - the one that loves himself so much he probably kisses the mirror in the morning. And to believe he's a sex symbol! Wow.

I've seen a fair few bad films in my time, but none that I have really hated all the way through. The whole theater (it was at a place which shows older films) was laughing at all the unintentionally funny moments, and never at the actual jokes. What a load of *beep*!

Sounds like you've been raised on brain dead Hollywood crap, Hargrave.

Stay away from the classics until you've weaned yourself off the pablum. Solid food seems to disagree with you.

This is one of the best (if not the best) neo-noirs. And if one can understand a thing or two about film language, it's really modern and smarter than most action/noir/thrillers that are coming out these days. It's like Godard went to the USA and shot his version of a classic noir. Too bad Boorman never made an equally good movie in the rest of career...

Sister, sister, oh so fair, why is there blood all over your hair?

To anyone who dislikes this movie. Watch The Killers with Lee in it and then watch Point Blank. i think The Killers will put you into the mood to enjoy Point Blank. The hard faced tough guy acting and womanizing make for great Noir.

You should be banned from seeing good films and forced to see again and again some
recent hollywood stuff like for example the remake of the italian job, a film with an amazing cast ( if you don´t count walhwerg) but totally senseless.
I implore you to stop opening dumb threats like this one, and go to see some cars flying, special effects, handsome/beautifull empty actors and absurd scripts.
Thanks.

POSSIBLE SPOILERS: Even now this film is violent. A forty year old movie about the underworld of crime syndicates and the people who live there. Even now, 40 years on, you see people cringe, 'Christ, he just punched him in the B***s!' 'My god he's just prepped himself with a bottle and smacked it across a guy's head!' Marvin is masterful: Near insane with the hate forced upon him by those who decieved him, left him for dead, haunted by it all; he's inhumane.

Played by Fairfax he doesn't mind being used to get to those who used him, belittled him, took away his pride and 'manhood'. Some of the most beautiful cinematography ever: The long walk. The Flash backs. The slow mo shooting! Wow. Jon, oh (you) are (so very )grave: and so very boring. Lee Marvin would kick your a***e and he's been dead for 20 years next August!

Only somebody that detests cinema could say that "Point Blank" is the worst movie they ever saw. One has to have pure hatred of cinema to say such a thing.
