The most self indulgent piece of cr*p ever committed to celluloid?
Without a doubt!!
shareThere is nothing worth calling a plot in this film but somehow I think it is a masterpiece. It would've been even better if they had deleted all the Sellers scenes and just gone ahed with Niven after Seller was sacked. Well, one can't have everything.
The costumes and sets are fabulous, the soundtrack is brilliant and it has one of the most impressive casts of all time with Sir David Niven, Orson Welles, Peter Sellers, Ursula Andress, Peter O'Toole, John Huston, Woody Allen, George Raft and Deborah Kerr. The screenplay is a mishmash indeed but there are some very good lines (most of them Niven's). The icing on the cake is of course the wonderous curves of Barbara Bouchet and Jacqueline Bisset. Oh the glory!
9/10 in my book.
It's the times, what can we do...
