It was disappointing - I can see why they never re-ran it. The best part was Robert Goulet's cameo.

trek is anti-christain

I'm an atheist, but I agree with you. The only instance where it wasn't was the one where the ensign died in the phaser control room and his fiance was in the chapel.

reply

Oh, no... There's a much more significant instance. I quote Uhura "Don't you understand? It's not the sun up in the sky, it's the son of God." And then Kirk and McCoy and even Spock go on with their approving wonder at the belated rise of Christianity on that planet with the "modern" Roman culture...

Oh, and also, Kirk to Apollo - "Mankind has no need for gods. We find the one quite sufficient."

reply

You're right, forgot about those.

am refering to 90s trek

reply

I beg to differ. While it has called Christianity into question from time to time it has underlying Christian underpinnings. Kirk finds cold suicide as reprehensible in A Taste of Armageddon. Quite a number of cultures accept suicide and especially those of a non-Western or non-Christian nature. Even an episode such as The Return of the Archons leaves the door open for a positive belief asking for the right to be not soulless in practice. That the greatest flaw of Landru was the computer could not use the creator's soul to inspire the population of Beta III. I think Beta III is at the extreme end of things as here on Earth the Catholic Church operated with the blessing of the nations who were willing to host it. In The Ultimate Computer Dr Daystrom talks to M5 about murder being against the laws of God and man.

They had a Christmas episode?

reply

A joke. All for the best...

There is a reference to a Christmas Party in the Sciences Department on the Enterprise - made by Dr. Helen NOEL - in the episode Dagger of the Mind...

reply

Uhura is wearing a nice dress.

reply

You can tell it's AI. Will be scary when you can't!

reply

Fake, but fun!
