At least, that is what most people would say if this movie were made today.
In Von Zipper's hangout, there are pictures of heinous historical figures. In one establishing shot, the camera zooms out of a portrait of Adolf Hitler (presumably one of Von Zipper's heroes).
I doubt whether that camera shot would ever be tolerated in this day and age.
But nobody said anything about it back in 1965...

I don't see why it would cause any more of a stir now than it did then.

There were Nazi symbols in the movie "Born Losers". Which was weird, because they were worn by a multi-racial gang. I think it was like someone today displaying a 666. It's not that they believe in the ideology behind the symbol. It's just a way of flipping the bird to polite society.
