bias?

I'm certainly not going to challenge that this is a great film, but doesn't anyone see the bias in it?
Its whole purpose is to glorify the uprising of Algerians. It justifies terrorism! However, it does show the French side, although I don't feel that makes it unbiased...just..."balanced"?

I prefer to call them freedom (independence) fighters, same with Palestinians!

Like the poster above me said, to you (the OP I mean), they may be terrorists. Another one would call them freedom fighters. Please keep that in mind.

The problem with making an unbiased film is that you don't just get accused of bias from one side but from both! The terrorist attacks in the film can be seen as both heinous terrorist crimes or justified struggle against brutal oppressors depending on your standpoint, what you bring to the film will dictate how you feel about it. The easiest way to understand that point is to think about how different a French viewer and an Algerian viewer will see it.

so terrorism is wrong but torturing is right?

The movie almost certainly did not justify terrorism. When I watched the film, I felt sympathy for the people who died during the bombings. A film that’s biased wouldn’t play such ridiculously sad music during that scene.
