Whew! That was tough! If I did this in a month, they would probably all be different. Ford, Kurosawa, Hitchcock, Spielberg, Ozu, Coppola and Leone all made (/make) films that I enjoy and almost all of their films would make a larger list. Of course, Fellini, Godard, Truffaut, Bergman, and Herzog also on the list of directors that I like, and whose films could be in my top ten at any time.
no order as it gets too difficult to quantify past first couple:
Shawshank Redemption
Before Sunrise/Sunset
Truman Show
City of God
Trainspotting
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
Austin Powers International Man of mystery
Goodfellas
It's a Wonderful Life
Sling Blade
and it will all be different tomorrow, I love list making and reading others' see a few films you like on one person's list and encourages you to check out the others.
Top 5:
1. The Third Man
2. Citizen Kane
3. 8 1/2
4. Seven Samurai
5. 2001: A Space Odyssey
I bought Andrei Rublev- Criterion Collection but haven't had a chance to watch it yet...
