There is probably no other Western that quite provides the visual scope and sense of visual adventure of How the West Was Won, but there are plenty of other Westerns that also provide a breathtaking look at the West and that are actually much better films. In the "epic" category, I would cite Once Upon a Time in the West (Sergio Leone, 1968) and The Outlaw Josey Wales (Clint Eastwood, 1976). share
