I was 8.

I do remember that the song was EVERYWHERE. A huge hit. Nobody spoke about the film at all, and I certainly didn't see it until years later.

I turned 2 in September 1961 -- one month before the release of BAT.

For the record, I was twelve years old in 1961. I (unfortunately) DID NOT see it on the Big Screen, I saw it on television. It made a BIG impression, I tell 'ya! For 44 years, Ms. Hepburn and I shared a birthday (May 4) together!!

I would have been -6 since I was not born until 1967. I think its really cool to know that people who may be in their 70's, as the OP was, and even older are hip enough to be posting about films they love on IMDB. I just saw the movie for the very first time and I absolutely adored it.

I think that SOMEWHERE in the world, someone is watching "Breakfast at Tiffany's" for the very first time! I envy them!! You simply MUST read Truman Capote's novella, though! No happy ending. Boy DOESN'T get girl, boy GETS cat, instead!!

The op was -29, meaning they were born in 1990.
