Did anyone else spot the flat-screen TV in Filby's store?

During the 1966 sequence, Wells is looking at the products being displayed in the window of Filby's store. There is a flat-screen TV with a sign under it that reads "The Latest Tubeless TV." The TV is off and the screen is beige-colored for some reason, but this is pretty amazing, considering that this movie was released in 1960!

WHOA ! I have watched this movie A LOT over the years and never once spotted that in Filby's store window ( was mostly staring at the " men's cordless shaver display " cool ad for it ) . Excellent eye on that

Saw your post and had to check it out. Wonder how they came up with that "tubeless tv"?

While it might be impressive that they predicted a tubeless TV the fact that it was in the stores in 1966 was way off. LOL

and it wasn't HD either.

Predicting things that might come to pass in the future may be quite common it's guessing when it will happen that most get wrong.

Yes good spot - I've just got the HD version of the film on freeze frame now and can see it. A very groovy design - I wonder who thought up the idea and who designed it.

The art director was George Davis who has a huge list of TV and films to his credit - so it could have been him

Actually if you've ever seen the 1936 film 'Things to Come' they have flat screen transparent video panels.
