When I see all the comments here I realise that you folks actually like this movie, and I'm surprised. Watched it till the end, but I could barely keep up the interest.
What's the fascination? I'm a trekkie and love the whole time travel business, but this movie's take on it was really lame.

I first saw this film on my own when I was about eight and it frightened the life out of me. There wasn't as much sci-fi around then on TV and film. But I adore its romantically forlorn tone.
I can definitely see why someone wouldn't like it and that's completely understandable. If it doesn't light your fire, it's a waste of your time. I'd naturally think that you've missed out on something wonderful but it isn't a timeless film and it has aged.
