If they made a remake

I think these people should play in it.

1. Loretta Divine - Annie
2. Scarlett Johansson - Lora
3. Lucy Hale - Sarah Jane
3. Hayden Panettiere - Susie
4. Madison Pettis - Young Sarah Jane
5. Elle Fanning - Young Susie

Oh no, I'm sorry, but just to imagine a remake of this true masterpiece is too much for me ! Everything is perfect in this amazing, unforgettable Sirk's classic, especially Juanita Moore. Anything else would pale in comparison.

It would have to be a "reboot" rather than a remake, because society has changed so much in the past 53 years the basic premises of the 1959 movie are no longer really believable.

It could still be the same basic story of two young single mothers, one black and one white, meeting and becoming friends, one riding a rocket to success and the other being a key assistant in that rise, and how all this affects the two daughters.

They should never remake this movie, ever. Who ever remakes it would only f--k it up. They should leave well enough alone.

Christina Aguilera as Lora

It's funny because me and my mother suggested the exact same characters you suggested today. Loretta Devine would blow the movie out of the waters. However I think to make the movie more legit an actual biracial would have to play Sarah Jane and the only actress who would do the movie justice would probably be Troian Pratt-Bellisario. Lucy Hale would be terrific but she is white. Maybe she could play as a close friend to Susie and Sarah Jane.
