Character actors starting in The Untouchables

It's amazing how many "big name to be" actors and actresses show up in the episodes. Sometimes I think every actor from the original Star Trek started as a mobster.

The best however, was John Banner as a brewmeister in Season 3, Episode 17: Takeover (also with a cigarette smoking Leonard Nimoy). When being questioned by one of the mobsters, he replies "I know nothing!" Even though it was a serious scene, I almost fell out of the chair laughing. My wife, haven't having seen Hogan's Heroes had no idea what was going on.

Season 4 was filled with familiar faces: Robert Redford, James Caan, Ed Asner (3 episodes), Frank Gorshin, Carroll O'Connor, Barbara Stanwyck (2 episodes), Lee Marvin, Mike Connors, Telly Savalas, Robert Duvall, Jack Klugman, and Robert Vaughn.

My wife has always been able to identify actors, sometimes just by my voice. I've been watching 'The Untouchables' on MeTV (and others) with my laptop on my lap and play info tag with the different actors. I'm getting quite good at recognizing some of the stock actors in many roles. One thing that surprised was how many people guest starred on 'Star Trek', especially the beautiful dames.

Oh, I forgot to mention my magnum opus. The 'Untouchables' started with a close up shot of a guy's mouth up to a telephone. Before he even spoke or the camera pulled back I said, "That's Frank Sutton!!!"
