Best episode of Season One?
"A World of Difference"
shareThat's a toss-up between "After Hours" and "Last Flight."
I couldn't name "World of Difference" as my favorite because I can't stand the scenes with Jerry Raigan's wife (although I have no problem with the wife of Arthur Curtis).
However, "World of Difference" is significant for containing Bill Idelson (aka, Herman Gilmscher).
On a cobweb afternoon
In a room full of emptiness
By a freeway I confess
I was lost in the pages
Walking Distance is probably top of the heap for me,--and dang I missed it last week when MeTV rebooted the Zone. I napped right through!
After that, Shadow Play (I think it's first season), A Nice Place To Visit. The After Hours, for sure
It's hard to pick just one, and much easier, for any TV series, from a show with fewer good to great episode. The TZ is an embarrassment of riches.
"A Stop at Willoughby" is a great story that could so easily be a longer story or a film, I would have liked to have seen more time spent at Willoughby.
"The After Hours" was the scariest episode for me, and one of the best directed of the season. Good cast of supporting actors.
"Mirror Image" is another dame in distress story, Vera Miles shines in her role.
And "Time Enough at Last" is a fave just for the performance by Burgess Meredith, who I hope one day finds a new pair of spectacles or a magnifying glass. Poor guy!
It comes down to a favorite three. It's a hard season for me pick just one.
One for the Angels
Nightmare as a Child
The Chaser
"The After Hours" followed by "I Shot an Arrow Into the Air"
