I am happy to see quite a few people listing Ikiru in their top 3 or even number 1. I think it is a fabuolous movie and while I have only seen 6 or 7 Kurosawa's, I wish he had made some more contemporary movies.

My Kurosawa rankings with my overall ranking for them amongst all movies (with about 30% of list being non-english films) in brackets.

1. Ikuru (8)
2. Rashomon (22)
3. Seven Samurai (28)
4. Ran (82)
5. Yogimbo (172)
6. Throne of Blood (194)
7. Hidden Fortress (276)
