Duty Now For The Future
One that had me laughing was the exchange in the helicopter between James Arness and Fred Gwenn. It occurs when they are in the helicopter and Gwenn is talking to the other helicopter. He fails to use "proper" military coding (in particular his failure to use "over" at the end of each communication). Arness nags him about it like a housewife (now there's a 50's analogy for ya!)and Gwenn gets perturbed by his nattering. Quite a funny scene.
shareActually it's "and charge the booze"... The subtitles are incorrect - It's happened before.
ConnerysToupee... you're referring to James Whitmore. James Arness was in the other copter with Pat. And his name is Edmund Gwenn (miracle On 34th Street) not Fred Gwynne (Car 54 Where Are You, The Munsters).

Jeez guys. And "charge the booze" doesn't make sense. Watched it now and reran it six times.......he says he will enlist if they make him a sergeant "in charge of the booze" which makes sense, problem is he kinda mumbles the "in" the first time but clearly repeats it twice more. And then later actually says "gimme the booze" a couple of times. Subtitles are accurate.
