Best quote ever!
Make me a sergeant in charge of the booze!
shareYep, it's right up there with the desperate defense of the railyard watchman who has been accused of the theft of 40 tons of sugar:
"Is sugar a rare cargo?? Is there a black market on it?? Did you ever hear of a fence for hot sugar??"
"Mr. Holmes, they were the footprints of a gigantic hound!"
"Please, my nerves"
shareOn the subject of quotes, there was an oblique reference to 'Them' in an episode of the series 'Jericho' a few years back.
For those unfamiliar, it takes place in a small Kansas town after terrorists - or were they? - detonate nuclear weapons in a couple of dozen major American cities.
The main character, played by Skeet Ulrich, is about to drive outside the town to check something out, and one of the other characters says to him, "Watch out for giant radioactive ants out there!" To which Skeet replies, "Always do."
Coincidentally, James Whitmore, Jr. directed a few episodes of this series, but not that one. I mentioned the line to one of the show's writers at Jerichon 2 and he wasn't sure but he thought he might have written it.
'Look...held together with saliva'
'Spit's all that's holding me together right now'
I love the lines in this movie, had me giggling all night....
..."Is it a UFO?"....."We've got to kill these queens"...."BUUUURN it! Buuurn iEverything!!!"...."They're ALIVE!"
and so many more
another curiosity...some of the music was really cool, reminded me almost of Star Wars in parts, I wonder if Williams or Lucas admired this film.
Of course george Lucas would have to admire this film -- so much better than his own stylistically, visually, for dialogue, acting... you name it.
share Yeah, there are some real gems in this movie. The whole movie in itself is a gem. There's nothing else on TV this wonderful Saturday morning, and I thought "Hey, a movie about giant ants from the '50's? I can't pass this up!"
"Everything alright?--"Yep, two corpses, everything's fine."
-Sid.
I love them all. It was on "Chiller" this morning and I just had to watch it again. Great movie!
sharewell I have only watched it once and there were a lot af brilliant dialogue.
But the one that made me laugh the most was when they were discussing the ants and someone talked about "the crimes" the ants were comitting.. so if these ants werent "comitting crimes".. they would not kill them right?
