Official 4K Restoration Trailer https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fRUsjrkGs_A

One of the most thrilling movie epics of all time, SEVEN SAMURAI tells the story of a sixteenth-century village whose desperate inhabitants hire the eponymous warriors to protect them from invading bandits. This three-hour ride from Akira Kurosawa—featuring legendary actors Toshiro Mifune and Takashi Shimura—seamlessly weaves philosophy and entertainment, delicate human emotions and relentless action, into a rich, evocative, and unforgettable tale of courage and hope. In theaters 7/5/24!

I just saw this 4K restoration version a few days ago. It was my first time seeing this movie and I can see why it is so revered. It played to a full theater of mostly guys. My favorite samurai is Kyuzo - the master swordsman. And also Kambei. You really get into the rain, mud, horses and the rigorous and turbulent fight scenes. And then the story of the samurai becomes the ronin. Feudal Japan in 1586. A true masterpiece.

This is my favorite movie of all time. I've seen it twice in theater, and a couple more times at home. I'm going tonight with two friends to see the restoration.
