What keeps this movie from being good

Is that once the detective lets Wendice "know" about the blackmail, Wendice barely questions the detective or Mark. He should have acted more upset. He should have screamed at Mark, or mentioned the betrayal, specially when Mark suggested that he should lie to save his cheating wife. The nerve! I really wish Tony would have framed Mark. It would have been the best punishment for both of the cheaters.

And I found the lack of sympathy of the inspector over the affair appalling. It's like he was almost for Mark and Margot. It really sucks Mark got no punishment at all.

So we should feel sorry for Tony for trying to kill his wife to inherit her money? Is this the first time you saw this movie?

Well she did have to endure losing a trial for a crime for which she had been framed and live for some time believing she would be executed as a criminal. And she later learned her husband had tried to have her killed. So she didn’t exactly get off scot-free. The ordeal was enough to give a person a mental breakdown.

That said, she’s not a totally sympathetic character.
