Best King Arthur film

Which do you think is the best King Arthur film?

I don't think there has been a definitive King Arthur film, but Excalibur is the best that I have seen.

King Arthur is alright, but there are too few knights in it.

First Knight is pure rubbish (the King's sword isn't even called Excalibur).

I hope Bernard Cornwell's Warlord series will be filmed one day.

I have heard that Valerio Massimo Manfredi's The Last Legion has had it's film rights bought, but that doesn't necessarily mean that it will be made at all.

Just found out, The Last Legion has been made into a film and will be released later this year. Sorry.

This does rank high on my list, maybe at the top. I've a soft spot for First Knight. Excalibur is pretty admirable for its ambition. I enjoy it but it's never quite been my favorite version. The 2004 movie sucks ass.

I'm sure there have been many movies ties to the Arthur mythos but I haven't seen more than a handful.

1. Excalibur - not perfect but close, has some truly extraordinary moments, beautiful score and terrific acting
2. Knights of the Round Table - gorgeous production, Robert Taylor won me over as Lancelot, the most beautiful Guineviere in Ava Gardner and while it doesn't rise to the levels of Excalibur, it's well worth watching with a final scene I doubt would work today but I found quite moving, a very pleasant surprise
3. First Knight - the best thing I can say about this film is it isn't the movie King Arthur from 2004
4. King Arthur - I expected a lot from this film but the last thing I expected was for it to be boring and that's what this film is, it was so dull and lifeless

I recently watched "King Arthur: Legend of the Sword. Not bad, not great. 5/10 Would have been better without Guy Ritchie IMO.
