I'm only 32, but a huge Duke fan and have only heard of this one. Seems to me that this hasn't been on the tube for quite some time if at all. July 16th AMC is calling it the world premiere. Is this true? If so it seems amazing that a Duke film has not been released or seen in close to 50 years by anyone.
I was 9 or 10. So 40+years ago. I remember watching it and thinking John Wayne was my grandfather! It probably was a world premiere, on dvd/video. Took many years of writing to Bat Jac Productions too, to get Michael Wayne off his rear end to release this.
Today December 9th 2014, on NYC digital movie channels that seem to come up lately ..here in NYC, we have Chnl 5-2 Movies, 11-3 Wpix, 47-4 Grit Chnl, and 68-3 all available with a cheap local antenna. BTW, the scene where they are suppose to be extremely cold, I believe the Duke said something like minus 40 degrees, no vapor were coming out of their mouths as they spoke.
With all the Wayne films out there it took roughly two generations of movie watching to catch up with this one. Not sure why?
Yes it was clearly not "-40 degrees" but it was still well done given the time and the shots were good. Their mini fires didn't make much sense I'd have been burning everying possible.
