Lucy-Desi Comedy Hour...

I just received I Love Lucy on blu ray and I have been watching the episodes out of order. But then I decided to re watch all of the Lucy Desi comedy hours. Some of the episodes I have not seen for years! And I must say I am enjoying them, more than I thought I would. Of course my favorite is still "the celebrity next door" The blu ray includes the original openings and closings, the show was just called 'The Lucille Ball-Desi Arnaz show," and cast commercials which is very cool. What is everyone's favorite Lucy Desi comedy hour?

Hi! It has been forever since I watched the Lucy-Desi Comedy Hour. I agree with you about the Tallulah Bankhead episode, it's my second favorite. My first one would probably be the Danny Thomas one. Danny's reactions to Lucy coming over constantly, the snowball fight, and the courtroom scene in the end. Hilarious!

The Danny Thomas one is my second favorite, so many good scenes! When Danny is nuzzling her neck! haha. I'm currently watching the Japan episode, makes me sad I'm near the end.

I like the Tallulah Bankhead episode. But for the most part, I find this show inferior to I Love Lucy. It was just a celebrity guest of the week show. Very hard to believe that Lucy would run into all these famous people all the time.

For me it lacked the charm and great storytelling of ILL. Some people enjoy this show, but I honestly don’t know why Lucy and Desi bothered to do it. Were they under some contractual obligation?
