cinderella or snow white - Cinderella (1950) Discussion

Cinderella, no contest. Snow White grates on my last nerve and she's just not appealing in any way to me. Cinderella was the first princess to show some initiative and would be the last until Belle more than 40 years later. She's up there with Ariel as my favorite.

Well... when I was a kid, I liked Cinderella a LOT better.
And no offense, but I always found Snow White's perkiness to be a little annoying...

But Snow was supposed to be naturally beautiful Her lips were naturally red. The grayish stuff on her eyelids was probly supposed to make htem look deeper.

Snow, easily. I like Cinderella but she was kinda boring next to Snow.

Snow had a better sense of humor, never showed when she was angry, she had much better coloring and dresses, had exotic beauty (which is way better than conventional like Cindy's imo even though Cind was beautiful too), she was in a worse situation but managed it, she lived in a better castle in the end, her prince was better-looking, she had nicer hair, she was more naturally pretty, her voice was ethereal, better, and just gave me shivers (even though I think I prefer Cinderella's), and she was actually born a princess. Plus her movie was way better. Cinderella's wasn't bad but too lighthearted. I love that SW was scary as well as cute, gorgeous, well-told, and original. Snow is pretty underrated, even if she is in the DP line.

I agree with you on "Cinderella" being too light-hearted, but I still like her character the best, because even though she fell for a prince in the end, she didn't love him for his title. She didn't even KNOW he was a prince when they met:

Cindy: "...And he was so handsome when we danced! I bet the Prince himself couldn't have been more...more..."

But yeah, I still respect your opinion too Weetzie Bat. =)

Thanks. I used to like her but just think she was boring when I was younger, but now I see she has more personality than I thought. She's one of the few princesses who actually shows her anger (not that I think that's always a good thing, but she wasn't throwing tamtrums or anything obviously)

And sorry if I may have offended you about Ariel or Belle... I dont think people should take what I say seriously all the time because half the time I'm being facetious or just joking. I really don't like Ariel for reasons I've stated but I do love her music. B&TB is still a good movie too and I'm liking Belle a little more.

So if you see any insulting-sounding comments to you on other disney boards, you can ignore them.

but i really do not know... for me aurora will always be my favorite... SW and Cinderella have always been tied but if I HAD to choose, MAYBE Snow White... i adore them both but Snow is a little more like how Id want to be =) i would loe to be as sweet and strong and classy as either of them tho lol

Cinderella. I actually quite like her. She's kind, hardworking and has enough spunk and grace to keep her dignity despite her lousy treatment.

Snow White is my least favorite princess by a mile. I know it was a milestone in filmmaking back in the thirties, but I don't like the animation or her design. She was a sweet and classy, hardworking girl as well and has more screen time than one of my favorites (Aurora), but her voice makes me want to rip her hair out. And in my opinion, Cinderella does the riches-to-rags better, and Sleeping Beauty makes for a better enchanted maiden. And she's got the most uninspiring prince of the lot. To date, Snow White is the least watched Disney dvd in my collection. I can't get past the first shrill bars of "Whistle While You Work"

cinderella no contest. although i do like the fact that snow white looks different to the rest of the stereotypical disney princesses, she just bores me. same with aurora as she has almost no screen time

I like the description of Snow White's exotic beauty, the dark hair light eyes and pale skin is an ideal of mine. But the way she was drawn in the Disney movie was rather bad and her hair was awful.
Snow White's prince was quite ugly whereas Cinderella's was smokin hott and had a great voice.
I dislike Snow White's singing voice only a little less than I hate Aurora's; Cinderella had the best Disney singing voice until 89 when Ariel came along.

Personally I find Snow White too naive and frustrating and much prefer Cinderella, it is a timeless movie

Do guys like "the thing"?
They like it better than no thing.
