Give me Eastwood especially on the gun skills. Sure Wayne did some fancy standard twirling in the Searchers, Liberty Valance and True Grit. But the stunt that Eastwood pulled off with that backwards flip/roll in the Josey Wales outpost scene was legendary. Mr Chained Blue Lightning himself.

Most younger people think of John Wayne of the 1960's. He began acting as an uncredited extra during the silent film era, in the 1920's. He had his first starring role as "Breck Coleman" in the "Big Trail" in 1930. That was just a few years after he played as a running back for USC on a football scholarship.

In his prime he was 6' 4" tall and weighed 235 lean mean pounds. In his old B westerns you could watch him move like a cat.

Clint versus John with both of them at the same age, especially in their younger days, would seen Clint flat on his back very quickly.

The best diplomat I know is a fully charged phaser bank.
