Dennis O'Keefe
If like me you've seen Dennis O'Keefe mainly as a tough guy in noirs and other dramas, it's a nice surprise to see how well he fares in a screwball comedy. His vaudevillian background really shows. In a few scenes, he acts just like Cary Grant in Arsenic and Old Lace, which came out just the year before. One has to wonder if he had seen it and was trying to replicate some of Cary Grant's manic mannerisms in that movie.
