A neat little Double Indemnity knockoff...
... that doesn't overstay its welcome. A few little creative touches, like having the reporter on the story be the murderer, and the city editor, the reporter's boss, be the unofficial investigator as the police isn't doing much in this one. Look out for Elizabeth Valentine, playing Mrs. Harper, the rancher's wife. It looks as if she's been asked to do a Ma Kettle impression, which she does pretty well, she's a dead ringer for Marjorie Main.
Oh, and not sure you directly call the morgue when you somebody dies in front of you.
