It's been interesting reading the messages boards and all the shock at the drinking and/or smoking during that era. I believe it is fairly represented given what I know from my own family.
In fact, a couple years ago, my MIL passed away and I designed a DVD and keepsake album compiled of several photos of her. In many of the black and white photos I edited, she was holding a drink and people around her had drinks and/or cigarettes. It really stood out to me because she was not a drinker or smoker by the time I met her but clearly was in her younger days. Similarly, I've looked at old albums of my parents and grandparents and saw the same thing. The only thing that stood out MORE was those awful bell-bottoms and checkered shirts! Hope those never come back in "fashion." Yikes!
