Who could play who (and especially Rebecca)?

I enjoyed reading the casting proposals in the event of a remake (altough I perfectly agree that this movie should not have one).

I too think that
- Colin Firth, Ralph Fiennes or Christian Bale would be perfect as Maxim (though Christian might seem too young for the character)
- Rupert Everett as Favell
- Helen Mirren or Maggie Smith as the sinister Mrs. Danvers
- I am not sure though who could play the second Mrs. de Winter (Rachel Weisz or Emily Blunt maybe?)

And my final question is who could play Rebecca? She is definitely more powerful without being portrayed on the screen, but I couldn't resist wondering how she looked like and who could play (let's say in a prequel :) the incarnation of a beautiful, strong, charming but purely evil woman. The only name I could come up with is Mary-Louise Parker (I'm dismissing the age).

and if they were to have Rebecca in flashback - Angelina Jolie

rebecca shouldn't be played by anyone. she is meant to be a sinister shadow. for the second wife, felicity joens could play her well. perhaps benedict cumberbatch for maxim, favell not sure and there are way too many options for mrs danvers. however, i think kate duchene could play her well. she's not very well known but her best role was playing miss hardbroom in the worst witch, with felicity jones funnily enough as ethel hallow and i think she could creep it up for danvers. i realise that diana rigg also played mis hardbroom in the worst witch film but perhaps kate duchene could do better than her in the role. i didn't care for the bbc version quite so much even though diana rigg was pretty good as mrs danvers
