Why is he so obsessed with biological children?

Does he just hate orphans that much?

Children have become status symbols, accessories, and accoutrements in modern society. Vance sees himself as one of the "Cool Kids" and can't understand why not everyone wants to be just like him.

I get that, but Vance seems determined to claim adopted kids aren't real children. it's such an insane talking point that I genuinely don't know why he keeps pushing it.

Does he believe that insulting people who adopt orphans is going to win him new votes?
