It would add realism if Rey had hairy armpits


Daisy Ridley was superb as Rey. However, in few shots you could clearly see she had her underarms impeccably shaved. I doubt that a wasteland-dwelling semi-feral character like Rey, here portrayed by a woman in her 20s, would have the time or the willingness to tend to her armpits so diligently that there wouldn't even be a stubble left. I think if they went for a more natural look in that region, it would have considerably added to the realism of both her character and the entire movie.

Maybe they could have just designed an outfit not showing her armpits (I never noticed) and avoid the whole thing.

eww no. If it was trying to be real, she'd have long sleeves. Take a look at actual people in the desert. They don't wear tank tops.
