Did he destroy his legacy?
Anti-vaxers still support him but it seems most people lost respect for him.

never understand the news media making this a good thing a lot of people die or get sick from following these athletes thinking they will be strong like them forgetting they are paid millions
shareNot at all, only the fascists against him.
For me, the legend only grow.
Now we are in a period where there are vaccines, so everyone need to mess with their own ass and shut the fuck up about other people choices.
Agreed - I haven't paid attention to tennis in 15 years, but I might consider watching Novak now - even out of the tennis court. The dude is a legend now.
shareFor me it isn't a case of him being an "anti-vaxer".
He was granted a visa to enter Australia and then they locked him up on arrival.
He didn't turn up with a fake visa and try and trick his way into the country or anything. He turned up with one they had literally given him and then they locked him up!
Good job he was the World's number one tennis player with all the wealth and ability to fight his incarceration and not some other Joe Bloggs poor fella who'd be locked up on arrival with a legitimate visa...
Can you imagine if this had happened to an American citizen entering China? Anti-vaxer or not I'm sure we'd be watching a very different story.
That's what I keep saying. It's the fact that he provoked and international scandal. Now you have two countries fighting each other.
shareYeah but he didn't "provoke" anything. The Australian PM is guilty of that.
By all means he's a poor role model, etc for not getting vaccinated. But he didn't grant the visa in the first place.
But he lied in his application and also could have left.
shareTrue, it does appear that's the case - However they could have checked that BEFORE actually issuing the visa. And then again, maybe it should have been brought up during his hearing.
However none of that changes the base fact that he was granted a visa and then arrested and detained on entry.
He didn´t have his VISA cancelled for "lying" though. Even though he admitted there was an error. His VISA was cancelled because he might "excite anti-vax sentiment".
shareFake medical exemption. Believes in fake medicine. Grounds for revoking visa.
shareI am not an anti-vaxxer but I still respect him, more so than before even. He puts his principles ahead of winning a trophy unlike certain others who are willing to kill their unborn children to win one.
shareHe lost MY respect.
But more than once. He keeps pushing for his anti vax bullshit.
What a SHITTY sportsman.
He is a selfish motherfucker with no respect for other people's wellbeing, public health, society rules, and tennis.
He should understand, this neanderthal asshole, that all his money comes from other people, better than him, paying him for playing a (silly) game that THEY have organized and intended for EVERYBODY.
He is a mere cog in the machine. He is a champion and should know better, and understand that lots of people (wrongfully) look up to him.
The vaccine has killed people. Fact. Why is it bullshit to say that the so called benefits don't outweigh the risks?
shareCovid has killed 100000 times more than the vaccine. Fact.
Thus, any moron can see why your bullshit is so called. Fact.
Thus, you are less intelligent than said moron. Fact.
The vaccines were found to only create a temporary shield of anti bodies, of around 30 days.
They were designed against the Wuhan strain, and lacked the resistance to tackle newer variants.
Basically they did very little.
They may have helped with long covid but they didn't save lives.
he may be a great tennis player but a sorry role model he is arrogant and mean and seems sort of mental limited
