Jenny Slate has been fired from SNL

It was rumored at first but now it's pretty much official. Her contract was not renewed for next season, and they are bringing in four new cast members.
I don't think she was great last season, but she wasn't featured in many sketches and seemed to have potential. I think maybe her ideas or sense of humor wasn't mainstream enough for the show. She's still better than Abby Elliot who is almost for sure coming back. Nepotism and sleeping with a co-worker probably helped...

Two things...

1). Abby Elliot is HOT

2). Jenny is leaving to pursue her custom-made doorbell career.

Im sad to hear that, I was started to like her. This is the second season in a row they fired one of the girls I liked a lot, I'm still mad they fired Casey Wilson, my favorite girl from the season before. It seems like Lorne keeps changing up the female cast every year now for some reason.

that sucks, i really liked her.

Like Michaela being let go this is a huge mistake. Jenny had one of the BEST recurring characters of the season and of the past few seasons.

Lorne Michaels should hang his hat and let someone better equipped make these kind of decisions and should take Seth Myers with him. He's one of the worst head writers in the history of SNL and yet he's still around.

Completely agree, I still don't understand why Michaela was fired. There are actually some talented people in the cast but every week they are given nothing to work with. The writing has been horrible for some time now and the blame for that lies squarely on Seth's shoulders, and Lorne's of course for keeping him around.

Casey White was your favorite?? Kristen Wiig is brilliant. Maybe the best girl to ever perform on the show.

reply

Wilson, ya' mean?

Wiig is good but certainly not the "best ever."

We all know that SNL waxes and wanes in its quality. This is definitely a waning period. At least Michaels finally gave Samberg more than two freaking seconds of air time last night; perhaps that will help things along!
