shareNot a "fan" but I can recognize the effect she has on her fans and whatnot and at least she can actually play guitar. Just like every major music act, they have both haters and lovers. It comes with the territory. I remember not too long ago when Eddie Van Halen died and David Crosby was asked how he felt about Eddie's death and his reply on social media was "meh". To me that was quite shocking because most musicians can appreciate other musicians even if they don't care for their music that much.
Crosby took a lot of heat for saying that but he just didn't listen to Van Halen's music and I'm sure Van Halen killed that 60s and 70s classic rock genre when they hit the scene. So, that's probably why he sounded kind of bitter when he said that.
At any rate, there's a lot of people out there that just hate the pop scene of today and music in general, and think it's just trash. This is probably why Swift gets a lot of heat. And if you think it's just old people you are wrong. There are young peeps that don't like her either.
But yeah, I don't see the point of berating her on a message board but some people have a lot of time on their hands... if you're going to hang out on the internet, you'll need thicker skin.

You should have seen what people did during the final days of the disco era. The last days of that scene were pretty bad. People were burning records and whatnot. It was an ugly scene.
Swift getting a few verbal insults isn't that shocking. I don't think people are trying to bring down pop music yet. It could happen though, like it did with disco.
I don't hate her because I'm a bitter middle aged man - I hate her because her "music" sucks and most of them are ear worms of the worst kind. I mean, I can even tolerate the porklette doing the Jardiance jingle ten times a night on TV, but her stuff is the ear worm of hell's nightmare.
