shareThe reason Nicolas changed his name from Coppola to Cage was so he wouldn't just get a job due to his last name. He wanted jobs because of talent not family name. I think Fast Times was his first role and he was Coppola then but I think he changed it after that movie, and didn't tell people he was related to the Coppolas when he would audition.
