Why isn't she in more movies/shows?

So Hogfather finally gets shown on TV in the US, and I'm watching it.

And am really impressed with the job of the actress playing Susan. Not an easy role.

Too good looking? There seems like some sort of discrimination against attractive people in British films and tv shows these days. Too tall, maybe?

From what I've read, she's primarily a stage actress, with several West End (the British equivalent of Broadway) roles on her resume.

And yes, she did a great Susan Sto-Helit.

i agree. if they make another terry pratchett appropriation with Susan Sto-Helit, Michelle would nail it, as now she knows the character of Susan

reply

actually, I'm pretty sure MD has never been on in the West End, but she's done quite a bit of theatre

She spent 2 Years at the national theatre (almost west end). Also she is at the old vic from may to september staring in "pygmalion".

ah - you're taking west end as an indication of quality, while i use west end to mean commercial stuff (largely with lights outside, but i'm not fussy ;).
