There’s also interesting conflict between Dig and Lyla because Lyla is still working at A.R.G.U.S., which we’ve painted as a less than savory organization. That tension between Dig, Lyla and Amanda Waller (Cynthia Addai-Robinson) — as big a part that Amanda is playing in the past, she’s playing just as big a part in the present.

Sounds like she's going to be a semi-regular.

Yeah, she's gorgeous and deceptive.

One of the things I'm looking forward the most to. She's in the first episode.

Amazing how on the live action iterations of the Waller character, she is hot (Green Lantern, Arrow) when she is supposed to be an unappealing fatass.

It's interesting that you mention that because I was recently thinking about how I really don't like them casting hot women to play Waller. What, there's not one unattractive black actress with the acting chops to play her? That's Hollywood and the CW for you. However, I think this actress did a great job. She's exactly who the character is supposed to be in terms of personality, if not looks. Also, now that I think about it, maybe her being hot isn't such a bad thing. A woman with good looks and a nice body would possibly have a better chance of being in that position of power than a woman without those things.

Isn't the media already filled with unattractive heavyset black women? I don't mind Waller being hot, as long as her ruthless personality remains the same.

She's been in the series for a while now as a recurring character. Amazing how on the live action iterations of the Waller character, she is hot (Green Lantern, Arrow) when she is supposed to be an unappealing fatass.

Couldn't you argue she's also attractive in Smallville? Pam Grier may be chunky but she's still a looker.

That's true, but they are usually comedic roles. There may be at least one movie where an unattractive, heavyset black women played a humorless hard-ass who straddles the line between villain and antihero, but I can't think of what it is at the moment.

I'm sure there's a few, can't think of any off the top of my head though.

I guess they chose the New 52 imagining of Waller. No matter, I really like her in the role.
