I LIKE HIM!!!!!

Having read some rather unkind comments about Matt Smith, and his performance as Dr Who, I want to stand up for the guy and say I LIKE HIM!!!!!! I think he's a talented and intelligent actor, really unique, quirky, and funny. give him a chance! I loved the other Doctors - especially Eccleston and Tennant - but Matt Smith's Dr is also unique and really likable - and I really like the new companion too - I think Karen gillian is charming and funny too! I really enjoyed the 1st episode - he is different, but just as good as the other Doctors in his own way.

Its very easy to be critical, and say that an actor is crap - but be really honest - COULD YOU DO BETTER??

Unless you could do a better job than the actor you are criticising, and have been in their shoes and done a better job, then should keep your comments and criticism fair and polite. If you dont like him or his interpretation thats fine, and you are entitled to you opinion - but making blunt statements, like "he's a wan k e r or he's ugly, or he's a crap actor" etc are really unfair and uncessary.

I adore him as well. He's got such cute quirks, and his Doctor has exactly the bright yet eccentric quality that the Doctor is supposed to have. He's also quite attractive, although I don't suppose that has to do with anything. ;)

I'm loving him too first i think he's an amazing actor and second i thinks he's damn cute. He makes a fantastic doctor and has a great deal of energy in the role.

My sister and I met him on a train in London in 2006. He was wearing a red British Columbia T-shirt and I asked if he was from there, which he wasn't but he has been there and said it was lovely and seeing him now 4 years later is making me real gitty.

I'm so happy to see Matt getting the praise he deserves and of course he's cute too but if he was a rubbish actor it wouldn't make me like him but he is an incredible actor and can do anything, talent oozes from him. I just smile after every episode with all the energy he brings to the screen. Karen's a brilliant choice too.

Matt's become a very close second to my all time favourite, Tom Baker in my book. Blooding brilliant and a joy to watch.

He makes a great Doctor who. what makes me like him more is he has more human emotions, for instance he stands up for what he believes in, he will yell (quite rightly) at his assistant, because of what he believes in, im glad he does, former Doctors will bend over backwards for his assistant yet he stands up for himself and disagress sometimes, that's what the show was lacking,

someone who doesn't always agree with his side-kick, conflict will make the show.
