These rumors that Alex is difficult to work with have followed him on all three of the failed blockbuster movies he did. During filming for I Am Number Four he and DJ Caruso supposedly got in a big fight with each other that required the studio to to intervene. These rumors about him having a huge ego are too persistent for there not to be some truth to them.

He's sabotaging his own movie career before it's actually had the chance to take off. That's quite a shame because he's leading man material, but he's still too new in Hollywood to be acting demanding and egotistical like what's been reported about him in the media.

I hope he's learned his lesson because I'm a fan and I'd like to see him in more stuff, but that's not going to happen if he keeps burning bridges with important people in Hollywood because he thinks he is already famous enough to be acting like a diva towards the people hiring him.

I agree he can catch up. But he's going to have to prove to people that he's changed first. Hopefully his Elvis & Nixon movie will be a step in the right direction.
