Pretty sure her management team talked it into her, almost every actor lies about their age. I for one don't care, and actually find her 'fame later in life' story refreshing and inspiring. It's not one of those cookie cutter stories that EVERYONE seems to have (performer since age two, discovered by a modeling agent in a mall, blah blah blah). Age is just a number but talent is timeless.

It really is part of the sexism in Hollywood/society against "old" women. JC possibly wouldn't've gotten some parts if, a few years ago, studios knew that she was already in her late 30s.

She's an absolutely gorgeous woman, but I would say that she certainly looks her age. She looks like a gorgeous woman who is fast approaching 40. The two things are not mutually exclusive. Even saying "She looks 40" is interpreted as some sort of insult, when it absolutely is not. I think JC looks about 40, and if someone told me she was secret 42 or 43 I'd say that's certainly possible. But she is also a tremendously pretty, sexy lady.

I used to think she just had very mature bone structure and looked older since I'm the same way(depending on my clothes, hair, and probably who you ask). In recent years, I've realized that many actresses lie about their ages, like Margot Robbie, Rebel Wilson, etc. It just happens. Women can't be "old" in Hollywood when they first start, at least to some degree. It's better to be young.
