He doesn't need to team up with them. Here's why:

By the points --

1.They are old and outdated - old and outdated? I dont think so. Jaa had a great start, but unless he gets himself involved into an interesting project his star will not shy any brighter. I personally think that being on screen with Jet or Jackie isnt such a bad thing.

2. He is younger and yes he is performing better. But he is limited and the faster he widens up a little bit, the better for him. You wont last on the screen with fights only.

3. -- please Ong Bak 3, Ong Bak 5, then what? Tom Yum Goong 2?

4. Forbidden Kingdom wasnt that great, if it was made about present times, in urban environment, it would have been better.

Tony Jaa advertises how he does not use CGI and wires to make the action better. Clearly Jet Li, Jackie Chan, and Donnie Yen are no longer of that mindset so these conflicting ideologies would conflict. In the end Tony Jaa would have to give up his unique style and his use of Thai culture to do this. So is that what you want? Thai movies are a nice break from the modern action movies that Hong Kong cenima has been producing, so while it may be a good career choice Tony Jaa would just be molding himself in an attempt to please others and ignoring his inherant style. Jackie Chan was forced to do this early in his career, he was choices as a Bruce Lee rplacement. Look at his first eight or so films, most of them are terrible compared to his first successfull film, snake in the eagles shadow. That was the first movie where he chose to be his own character.

Well advertising of scenes without CGI is a good thing, i agree, but still i believe Jaa needs to develop more as an actor. Adding some acting to his unique martial arts skills wld be a great combination. As for the Thai action/martial arts movies - i aint got nothing against them, i even like a few (tom yum goong, somtum).

All iam saying is that the same formula doesnt work everytime. Example: Steven Seagal.

tru, I think that he needs to keep evolving as a preformer if he wants to become more successfull. And I agree that Tom Yum Goong wasn't the best film in terms of acting and plot (understatement).

I think if they could figure out a way to make it work, (I don't know how well he's coming along in english) an action film that is less vendetta esque and a bit more comedic that they'd win a wider audience over. People who aren't just martial arts fans, people that enjoy movies and a good laugh. I think it's more plausible right now for him to do something like this than a love story because you don't need to be as refined in your acting skills to be funny as you do to be convinvingly involved with someone romantically.

I think, ill disagree on this one. Having seen Jaa's movies, i dont think he can be believable in a comedy-like scene or movie. His stronger point on-screen is his brutal style of fighting. He's no Jackie who can be very funny, and he aint Bruce Lee.

Nowadays people need good martial arts films, no matter where they are being made. Jaa had a good start, but now i believe he just needs to work on his english, and stick to the style of his previous movies. And i seriously think he must consider a villain role in the near future. Think Jet Li in Lethal Weapon 4, or Mark Dacascos in Cradle to the Grave.
