I've seen Ong-Bak and The Protector, but I know he's been in a lot more. I heard about one film where they advertise it like he's the main character, but his part is actually really small. So what are all the good films he's done?

shareThe two you listed are really the only good ones where Tony is the star. That is, unless you count Ong Bak 2, which was just released in Thai theaters this month. I've heard mixed reviews on that one. It sounds like they had to meet a deadline but they couldn't finish the story in time due to Tony Jaa going awol for a couple months. So they just released a cliffhanger movie and now they plan on finishing it in Ong Bak 3. Needless to say, if you've seen the promo reel for Ong Bak 2, the fight scenes are clearly outstanding, but I hear most of the fighting doesn't happen until the last twenty minutes.

Wasn't there a case of some other movie being marketed as "Ong-Bak 2," before the actual Ong-Bak 2 came out? I think I saw some version of the Protector with that written on the box. Or something?

Very true. Since the first Ong Bak was so successful, any movie with Jaa can sometimes be marketed as a sequel to get the money.
Ong Bak 2 isn't really even a sequel, it has nothing to do with the first movie.
I see a lot of movies that he was in aren't listed on IMDb. Anyway Ong Bak 2 pretty much sucks. The fight scenes are pretty good but the story is godawful and really doesn't seem to have anything to do with Ong Bak 1. I didn't even realize it was Tony Jaa for the first half of the movie.
I would say Chocolate is better.
I just watched the second one last night, i wouldnt say the story sucked. Its just they typical "you killed my family so i'm coming after you, oh wait, the traitor is the guy who trained me" story. Who watches movies like this for the story anyway? Its all about the fights which is not only in the last 20 minutes like someone else said. its through the whole movie.
shareCheck out Chocolate (2008). Its the same director and action choreographer of Ong bak and Protector, but instead it stars Jeeja Yanin. She's really good and so is the movie.
shareYou know 'em already - "Ong Bak", "The Protector", and "Ong Bak 2" are the only real Tony Jaa vehicles out there, and the only ones worth watching. Films like "Spirited Killer" or "The Bodyguard" would have you think by their covers that Tony's the star, but his screentime in those movies doesn't exceed 10 minutes or so (and besides, they all largely stink to begin with, and not even he can save them).
As far as "Ong Bak 2" goes, it's not at all a sequel or even a prequel, but nevertheless worth watching...if you're into martial arts films for the sake of martial arts. The ending comes from out of nowhere and the story's so uncomplicated that you could write it on the palm of your hand, but Tony continues to top himself by the minute. Cool hero, cooler villains, awesome fights, silly script. Neat art direction, too.
