What I hate about Tony Jaa

Why does it take this guy so long to make a movie? There are 3 to for year gaps in between his movies. In the past 6 years he's made 2 only two films and his cameos in the bodyguard movies don't count. What is taking is long?

Tony Jaa is a great guy.
The reasons it takes such a long time in between movies is financial.
In the interim, Tony is mastering his english.

considering the fact he has to learn a whole new martial arts each time he has made a movie (he trained for 4 years in muay thai before they started filming ong bak) im not surprised he takes so long between films

healing injuries.

him and the stunt teams. there are just so many stunt people on earth.

Better 1 amazing movie every 3 years than 1 average every year.

I'm going to have to argue this point. You can't tell if that ONE movie you make every few years is going to be amazing, it's better to put out a handful of material and hope someone out there likes some of it. Jackie Chan has followed this belief for his entire career and has stayed on top of his game mentally and physically by always working on something.

Gone are the times when Jackie Chan or Jet Li were releasing great movies every year or even MANY great movies in the same year (Jackie had 2 great and 4 decent movies in 1978, Jet Li had 3 great movies in 1993 as well as 2 more that were at least watchable).

Unless he starts churning out more material, our generation and maybe the one after will be the only ones who ever know who Tony Jaa was. Which is a shame because he brings an entertaining style to the screen and only lacks a little bit of charisma or identity that will come with time and experience.

Learning how to do specific moves for a movie and mastering a martial art are two different things.

Are you serious?
Tony Jaa has been training Muay Thai since he was 10?!
I don't think he was 14 when he made Ong Bak.

haha

I agree that he has learned new styles for Ong Bak 2 but he is very well trained in Muay Boran.

MORE JAA!!!
