But I heard the idea that if Trump was president Putin would have stayed in his corner.
I believe Putin wishes he invaded Ukraine when Trump was in office. Biden and the West have made Putin's life hell. Maybe not enough though, should have given permissions & weapons years ago.

Tough question. I think Putin is not as strong as he wants the world to think he is.
And I think Biden lost a lot of time allowing Russia to advance into Ukraine.
A possible solution: propose peace talks and send NATO/UN peacekeepers in. It would have worked much better at the start of the conflict.
I think USSR, sorry, Russia, wouldn't have openly attacked the peacekeepers and provoke a WW3.
Even now it could work but it would be hard to push Russia out of what they already occupied without starting a conflict.
