Performing 24 hours after father's death: Hero or ego?

I can't decide if I admire her or think she's self-centered. I understand her career is important but not the only important thing. A death is, obviously, a once-in-a-lifetime event, whereas musicals (aka jobs..gigs...) come and go. I've lost both of my parents and wouldn't have missed it for the world. Was she there with him when he passed? Probably not. Was she there for her mother and sister the day after? Definitely not. When I saw her instagram postings the week and hours leading up to the show, I found them extremely distasteful. yes promotion is important but posting selfies hours after your dad's death, for promotional purposes or not, is tasteless. I also doubt she was contractually obligated, as there have to be understudies and a death in the IMMEDIATE family is a valid excuse.

I go for hero, if she wouldn't have performed I would have go for ego.

Saying that, she performed knowing she could break down and ruined not only her career but the rest of cast & crew, and she pulled it off and performed because IMO she was not only thinking about herself but everyone involved in this project, her father was already gone what else could she do, if her father last day was that Sunday and she had to choose the show over her dad and not being with him in his last day I would say was ego.
