How and when did you guys become a fan of Chris?

Just curious. I find those different stories kind of interesting.

The first movie I ever watched with Chris was Star Trek, although I didn’t really notice him at that point (my attention was more focused on Zachary Quinto and Simon Pegg at that point, being two actors I really admire) So I’ll have to say the first movie I took notice of him was Thor. And I wasn’t really keen on watching that one as the trailer kinda put me off a bit. Thinking: Ah, here comes another superhero movie with a big blond bulky guy who can’t act (don’t flame me - I was sooooo wrong) Anyway, that actually kept we away a long time until that point I had to catch up with the Hulk, Cap and Thor before The Avengers hit cinemas. So I rented those on DVD and had a Marvel night starting with Hulk and after that Captain America, leaving Thor for the next day, cause I still didn’t want to whatch that movie. Funny thing, when I finally DID watch it I thought it was the best of them all.

Still, me growing really fond of Chris was kind of an increasing process. First person I noticed was Tom Hiddleston (that scene with Odin in the weapons vault just broke my heart) making me look up his name and checking out other stuff he did. I also thought Chris did a great job. Didn’t expect that, being a little biased about him (wrongfully so). But I believed him in that scene where he tried to lift the hammer and was then captured by S.H.I.E.L.D. I felt so sorry for Thor. And Loki telling him Odin died and he wasn’t allowed back to Asgard... Still, at this point it didn’t make me check his IMDB page immediately for other movies (though I did watch Snow White and Cabin in the Woods shortly after that). But the thing that really sold me and made me admire him are all those lovely interviews with him and Tom, showing their amazing brotherly love for each other, and the fantastic chemistry they share - on AND off screen. Both of them are so talented, and I think they even raise their game when they share a scene. My favorite parts in TDW are actually Thor and Loki bickering. Also, both being amazingly nice people, happend to meet them both personally. And OMG, Chris’ voice is sooooooo amazing to listen to when you actually hear it for real.

End of story: I have fallen in love with a team. Admiring two actors I happend to discover in the same movie and will be following both their careers, very curious about what they will bring to the table in the future. Thanks for the ride so far, and looking forward to Avengers 2 (ULTRON! Yes!!!) and In the Heart of the Sea.

Wow. That was kinda long.

Anyhoo...

Care to share your own story? Would like to read about how you all came to like Chris.

For me it was when he was in Home and Away. I actually stopped watching it when he left. Thankfully my hubby is a Trekkie and I when I was watching the movie with him I recognised Chris right away! From then on its been all go! ;)

Hmmmm. I remember seeing an ad for "Snow White and the Huntsman" on the TV and I was like "Huh... isn't that... Yeah, yeah it is!". I don't remember if it was before or after seeing the Avengers though. No wait, Snow came soon after Avengers right? So I think I had seen Thor and Avengers (saw them the same day for the first time) and at the time I hadn't given him all that much thought. But I watched Snow White and BAM I loved the huntsman. So I rewatched Avengers and Thor, then bought Cash and so on. Quickly getting very into him =)

Thor of course. I was in a similar position you were in before seeing the film. I actually didn't care for seeing, because I had never seen a trailer for it. So my dad eventually took me to see it at the theater, and it was a surprisingly good film (and saw it 2 more times at the theater); but not only that, I saw Chris' talent from the get go. The exile scene with him and Hopkins/Odin was magnificent, and extremely well acted. 'YOU ARE AN OLD MAN AND A FOOL!!' totally stunned me. I was never familiar with the Thor character, but when he played him, it was exactly how I had envisioned Thor to be. After the Thor viewings, I looked up his IMDB page and watched some interviews of his (didn't know he was Australian ). I was surprised at how very calm, laid-back, and sweet his personality was, because of his ambitious, Type A Thor character (Love how he can play characters the complete opposite of himself). But that's a good thing, because when you watch movies, you're supposed to see the character, not the actor. Needless to say, I saw Thor the entire time. The more interviews I watched, the more I was gradually taking a liking in him. I began to develop a deep admiration for him, that can never explain. That pesky, unexplainable soft spot. Thor became and is my favorite superhero.

I later then saw Snow White, and Charlize Theron (who kinda overacted) aside, he was the best part about it. On a second viewing, he was only good thing about it. The best part of course, where he pours his shattered heart out to a dead Snow White. It was beautiful and sad. He actually happens to be gorgeous cryer, lol. I love his scene with Loki in Avengers, where he's begging him to come back home was just 'AWW'. I love what he's done with the entire Thor character. He gave him a personality, fears, vulnerabilities, a sense of humor, strength, glaring emotions; he's god yet an internal human. And he embodies Thor in the most uncanny way. Same with all his characters. His brotherly relationship with Tom is heartwarming. 'Thor' was both of their first major project, and they're just experiencing it all together. Tom used to always explain how they first met, and they hit it off from the beginning. They have too much in common. 'instant connection, instant friendship' is how he explained it. Not to mention their massive chemistry, when they do scenes together as Thor and Loki.

Chris H. is just an all around good, genuine person. He has this drive to do well as an actor, and the type of anxiety to motivate him to be great in any role he does. He's one of the most down-to-earth actors I've ever come across. And a total sweetheart. Can't wait for Cyber, In the Heart of the Sea, and Avengers 2.

And that's my long story : )

I kind of liked him since SnowWhite and the Huntsman and I thought he was my favorite Avenger but I became And declared my self as a fan with Rush.

Actually this Sunday was my 4th time I went to the theaters and watch Rush and loved it as much as the first time.

I always told to my friends how much I loved that film and how I loved Chris Hemsworth In it and even tough they were not so excited about that movie they accepted to see it because they heard some good comments on it and well someone had to make the sacrifice to watch this film another time to make them watch it so you know who made the big sacrifice lol

anyway they loved it and the one who said Chris is not that hot, she took off her words hehe, both said Chris looks much better here than he does in Thor.

He caught my eye when I first saw him in Star Trek. I went into the film thinking I would fall in love with Chris Pine and while I liked his Capt. Kirk, I was distracted by the young actor who played his father. He had a kind, stoic, vulnerable and likable screen presence (no offense to Chris P, but Chris just has a more likable screen presence). I looked him on IMDb and noticed that he didn't have any interesting projects in the works, but something told me to keep my eye on him because there was something special about him. And I did. I occasionally posted in 2009 and 2010 (was a full-time reg by 2011) and continued to keep my eye out for him.

Around the time he landed the role of Thor, I was a big-time True Blood fan. It was assumed across the fandom that Alexander Skarsgaard was going to land the role of Thor and become this big Hollywood star because everybody loved Alex/Eric and thought he was due for a big break. When Chris was announced instead, holy hell was there an outbreak of anger and vitriol. You try defending some nobody Australian named Chris Hemsworth on a True Blood board where 99.9% of the fandom worships the ground Alex/Eric walks on.

But my earlier hunch was right, as Chris was on his way to having a big break. I had kept close attention to him and was particularly attentive the months leading up to the release of Thor. And Chris did not disappoint me when I saw the film for the first time (ended up seeing it 3x in theaters). The rest is history.

There are few things as fetching as a bruised ego on a beautiful angel.

Don't laugh. Snow White And The Huntsman. He was the ONLY decent thing (besides Charlize, but she was 5 shades over spastic, and made me laugh) in this movie.

I also liked Cabin In The Woods, but he was severely overshadowed by Fran Krantz. Joss Whedon seems to prefer his alumni's as opposed to the newer actors he hasn't worked with before. He probably penned that entire role with Krantz in mind.

I like it when you actually grow fond of an actor no one really noticed so far and can watch them rise and follow their careers from the get go. So exciting. And it kind of makes you feel proud when they finally accomplish something. Happend to me with Jessica Chastain actually. Saw her in an Othello play years back. When I looked her up on IMDb at that time she had like one movie and a couple of tv series listed. Look at her now. Oscar nominee and Golden Globe winner.
