Government inconpetence or conspiracy?
Sorry, it was terrible. Terrible follow up questions and incomplete reporting (and I'm not suggesting he was or wasn't murdered).
For example, when the forensic pathologist told the reporter he had not seen all the evidence, she did not bother to even ask what evidence he had not seen yet.
Next, no background on the controversies over Baden and his history. Different forensic pathologists should have been interviewed.
Also, focusing on things like the moving of the body and the one guard not being interviewed weren't really that suspicious. Though the body should not have been moved, it would not surprise me if it is revealed the body was treated because those running the jail were reacting to who the prisoner was and they were worried about their jobs. The reason the one guard is probably not talking is that he is under a criminal charge. Not too big of a surprise there.
The one thing that is concerning was what kind of ligature was used. From the photographs, it looked more like a cord rather than clothing, but of course, the reporter did not reveal what the reports said about the ligature.
Oh, and for the hyoid bone being broken - the older one gets, the more brittle and fragile that bone becomes and it is not unusual to be fractured. Again, another pathologist should have been spoken to about that.
The pathologist is not privy to all the evidence, so how does he know what hasn't been seen?
I'm on the side of incompetence, which should never be under-estimated.
Stats on the three neck fractures from suicide by hanging, which he says are rare, would have been helpful.
That's a whole lot of incompetence focused on one prisoner, who just happened to be privy to information that would be very harmful to some very powerful people.
share> she did not bother to even ask what evidence he had not seen yet.
The blood pooling in his body evidence had not been released.
There was the "noose" that had no blood on it, and yet Epstein's neck was all bloody.
The noose was low on Epstein's neck where it would be if he was strangled, not high up where it would be if he had hung himself.
Epstein's jaw bone was also broken.
The image I saw of his neck was not all bloody - I also would have liked to see a known image of it after it was washed and if what was seen in the picture was an abrasion or blood. I could not tell.
All of what you mention are suppositions of nothing without knowing more. For example, Baden's claim of the location of the noose is meaningless without knowing how the body was found and what position it was in when found. For example, did he hang himself with the noose affixed up high on a wall or bed frame or did he rig it so he had to maybe lie forward while on his bed and on his stomach, with his upper torso over the edge of the bed.
As for any noose with blood on it, from what I saw it was not clear what noose was used. The cloth nooses may have just been Epstein created nooses he made and did not use for whatever reason (maybe the fabric was tearing).
And as I typed in my earlier post, the most obvious follow up question from the start the reporter failed to ask was after Baden said he has not seen all the evidence. What she should have asked was "What evidence have you not yet seen?"
Damn, I missed it!
Did it show him at his new crib in Tel Aviv?
Showed him dead lying on a gurney.
share. . . or showed somebody on a gurney.
shareLooked real, you could tell it was him.
60 min is highly credible, I am sure they fully vetted the photo.
The conspiracy theory is not if he is dead, but did he commit suicide or was his cell left open and someone strangled him to death and made it look like a suicide.
