I get the makeup/hairstyle argument, but I think your first point is equally important. Clearly her face is not what it once was, regardless of how she's made up.
Those pics you posted don't even look like her in anything I've ever seen. I'll have to take your word for it that it's even her (the first kind of looks like her, but the second not at all). I think Scott Pilgrim was the first thing I saw her in, and then 10 Cloverfield Lane.

Hmm...I missed that one.
I dunno, I'm not going to die on this hill, but I think it is a "rule of thumb" that if the close up of the body part is separate from a full shot of the body and the actress's face in the same shot..body double. OR sometimes we have a fully nude actress(and I'm talking actresses here) and their face is obscured and the double is wearing a wig.
Here are some examples:
In Hitchcock's Frenzy, a woman's blouse is ripped open by a killer and breasts are revealed in the close-up only. Body double.
Also in Hitchcock's Frenzy, a nude body double for actress Anna Massey crosses a bedroom (seen from behind) to a bathroom. Massey said she WOULD have done the scene, but a double(wearing a wig,) was used instead.
In Dressed to Kill, middle-aged Angie Dickinson is shown in a shower, with cuts to great big naked breasts in close up. Not hers, but there is a joke here: these are the young woman's breasts that Dickinson is FANTASIZING (in a dream) to be hers.
In Bad Santa, the character played by Lauren Graham of The Gilmore Girls has a "Santa Fetish," and loves to have sex with reprobate Santa Billy Bob Thornton(in a car, in a hot tub) while yelling "F me, Santa, F me, Santa".
Its Lauren Graham's voice on the soundtrack, but its a body double "doing the deed," wearing a wig, not showing her face.
And so forth and so on.
The breakdown of the shots in that Fargo bathtub scene suggest "body double" to me, but oh well, if the actress says otherwise, who am I to deny her?
PS. Hitchcock copycat Brian DePalma once made a whole thriller on this topic. It was called "Body Double."
