Saw the picture and thought, "Oh no he didn't die, did he?"

Marvelous actor ,one of the best characters on The Sopranos. RIP

reply

I had the same reaction to seeing his picture. Very sad. We've lost so many great entertainers in the past couple of years.

Between GoodFellas and The Sopranos, Frank Vincent was great in Scorsese's "semi-GoodFellas remake": Casino. He plays Pesci's loyal mob lieutenant but here's what I love: at film's end, on their bosses orders, Vincent TURNS on Pesci and beats him to near-death with a baseball bat, burying him alive next to his similarly treated brother. A lesson: don't always think your lieutenant is THAT loyal...he may have hated your guts all along.

Frank Vincent was in Raging Bull too, so he was a Scorsese regular.

But anyway:

My favorite movie of 1990 is GoodFellas
My favorite movie of 1995 is Casino
My favorite series of the 00's was The Sopranos.

...and Frank Vincent was a big, unforgettable part of all three.

RIP Frank...

PS. A great Phil Leotardo line: "My scrapbook is all out of scraps."

reply

It's actually "There are no scraps in my scrapbook".

May God rest Frank Vincent's soul. He was great in the Martin Scorsese films "Raging Bull", "Goodfellas", and "Casino". He was also great on TV's "The Sopranos".

reply

Just woke up and saw the news. Was watching the Sopranos S6 last night where he had a more prominent role. Loved all his stuff. RIP.

Also just saw the news of Frank's passing. 78 is a decent age to go, hopefully with minimal suffering. All things must pass. His legacy will live on from his movies and of course The Sopranos as an excellent antagonist with the best "hair helmet" ever. RIP Frank, see you soon ;-)
