I've just started watching season 7 of Smallville and was surprised to discover that she is the same age as me. I thought she was Tom's age, maybe a year or two older.

I agree. She looks like she's had some facial work done, which on such a young person makes them look like an older person trying to look young. Ala that Heidi MTV person.
shareShe looks more like 25 and she just has prominent cheek bones from what I can see, I don't think she had work done though I could be wrong.
