The other column is for the overall/combined "votes cast" which they change/update days, weeks and months after the election which is irrelevant as they only matter up to the day after the election.

The historical figures for the Democrats are close except for 2020 which has a huge disparity of 15-million votes/ballots.

Once again; any changed/updated figures weeks or months after the election are irrelevant.
These are the figures up to the day after the election.

2008 Obama - 69.5M
2012 Obama - 65.9M
